Established in 1841 when Hong Kong was just a small port, A.S. Watson Group's desire to give dated back to our history when it was a small dispensary, providing free medicine to the needy.
Since then, the company has grown substantially as it continues to build on its rich history of supporting wide array of community initiatives. On the occasion of its 175th Anniversary in 2016, A.S. Watson Group has launched the "Project LOL" philanthropy programme to bring "Lots of Laugh, Lots of Love" to further extend its love and care to the society, with its social responsibility projects grouped under three main areas – Health, Education and Caring Community.
“Oxfam Trailwalker 2016” was organized by Oxfam Hong Kong and it has been one of the largest fundraising sports events locally. The funding plans to support various poverty alleviation and emergency relief projects in areas like Mainland China and Africa.
“World Heart Day 2016”organized by Hong Kong College of Cardiology promotes healthy living habits in order to reduce risks of having cardiovascular diseases. Through this event, we hope to encourage public to concern on cardiovascular diseases and to gain healthy hearts by improving living habits.
“Asics HK 10K Challenge 2016” was organized by Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association, in which Watsons Water sponsored pure distilled water for participants. Besides, Watsons Water set plastic bottle recycling bins on track to facilitate green living.
Watsons Water sponsored “Pink Walk for Breast Health 2016”, a fund-raising event to promote education, patient support service and research based advocacy to mitigate the threat of breast cancer in local community.
Organised by The Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong, “From Darkness to Sunrise City Orienteering Competition” brings out the message of brightness will always appear after darkness to promote positive life attitude to public. Watsons Water supported the event by serving pure distilled water for participants and volunteers.
Watsons Water sponsored “Million Trees Project” which was held by Hong Kong Green Nature Union on June 5. Through sponsorship to this tree-planting event, Watsons Water aimed to promote the importance of conserving trees and to encourage the society to be more environmentally friendly.
“Hong Kong Paralympic Day 2016” promotes disabled sports and encourages people with physical disabilities to participate in sports. At the same time, the event acts as a platform for athletes’ selection as to invite more potential disabled people to participate in further sports trainings. Watsons Water aims to raise public awareness about disabled sports in Hong Kong as well as to advocate public support for disabled sports development.
Watsons Water Sponsored "Persistence for Green Mission, Break the World Record Together" event, which successfully broke the world cycling record for producing the highest amount of electricity in 24 hours. This event also raised funds for Redford Charitable Foundation.
Watsons Water Sponsored Charity Event "Water-on-your-back" which was organized by A Drop of Life to raise money for Water Cellar Campaign to change peasants' life in Mainland arid region. Adult participants carried 4.5 liters of Watsons Water while junior participants carried 800ml of Watsons Water to finish 4km route to experience the hardship of carrying water of peasants. Through sponsoring the event, Watsons Water hopes to arouse participants and public's awareness on Mainland arid region water shortage problem and importance of saving our water resources.
Watsons Water Sponsored Hong Kong International Diamond Mile 2013 which was organized by Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association providing purest distilled water and sports drink Iso-tone on the route to athletes. Watsons Athletic Club also won the Champion at Relay Invitational Cup.
